Degree approval files of predecessor agencies, 1972-1980.

In 1980 the Board of Regents of Higher Education assumed the powers and duties of the Board of Higher Education, the Massachusetts Board of Regional Community Colleges, and the Board of Trustees of State Colleges. Degree approval files of these predecessor agencies were transferred to the Board of Regents Division of Academic Affairs at that time and have been used by the board to carry out its functions of approving new degree programs and participating in systemwide planning activities.
